First thing’s first. Your weekly dose of Poppy Farm Dog
Our girl holding it down at Phillippi Farmhouse Market And they call it Poppy love…
We had some rainy days out in the fields and markets this week! It seemed just as we would finally get dry another rain cloud would move in. We like to think of it as the washing away of the warm weather and on with the cool. And in the spirit of that we hosted our 2nd annual Fall Harvest Festival. The time change this weekend reminds us that with earlier mornings bring earlier nights and that the cycles of the earth are continuous. We hope you had a beautiful week. Check out what we’ve been up to:
Growing with the Boys and Girls Club Manatee County
Building a sustainable future
Education Coordinator, Sarah, has been busy as a bee with these Boys and Girls Club cuties! Together Geraldson Community Farm and this Palmetto chapter are teaching kids how fun and rewarding gardening can be. From seed until harvest they will be able to watch and tend to their efforts. The best part will be the knowledge the children have gained and maybe a close second, the true fruits of their labor! We will keep you posted on their progress!
If you want to get your connection to the earth game strong, join us! For volunteering information please contact: email@example.com
Eat Local Week Fall Harvest Fest was a success!!!
As all of you that came out are sure to know, we had a fantastic day on Saturday. Vendors were on point, the food was delish, music and dance had us rockin’ and the company we shared it with ruled! Peacecorn popcorn gave us a lesson on making the perfect, peaceful pop! and Hymn for Her treated us with their tunes
(obviously, this was my favorite part of the day!)
Love those Florida puffy clouds. Thankfully Saturday’s weather brought it’s A game.
And even Poppy ran a booth!
Hey, Mr. Blair!!!! Wait for me!!!! No Fall Fest would be complete without a proper hay ride!
Seriously, you guys are all amazing and thank you so much for another successful year!

Looking for a way to utilize your CSA shares for the Thanksgiving season? We have just the thing!
Please join us November 18th for a fun CSA cooking class with Chef Patrick Loughrey. Tuition: $5
A little bit about Chef Patrick: Originally from Cincinnati, OH, I’ve been a Florida resident for more than a decade. I started cooking while working through the restaurant industry in the early 2000’s and developed a taste for Asian fusion, Central & South American street food and home-style Americana. I make food with passion and you’ll taste it in every bite. If I can change one person’s mind on a specific food, I feel I’ve succeeded; tell me a food you despise and I’ll make you love it before the day’s done.
Christmas carols, lights, Santa, hot chocolate, a warm fire, great company, joy, happiness….. We can think of many ways to enjoy the holidays. Join us at Geraldson Community Farm as we transport you into a farm winter wonderland!
